<etgov:ComponentDescription>LinkSpace Semantic Correlation Server provides a web service that allows users to create a virtual, adaptive layer of semantic organization across networks and repositories in the federal enterprise architecture.

Using collaborative technologies built around web services and XML, LinkSpace technology lets users correlate information, in any format, across large independently managed collections with strong semantic context ; much like “related links” in popular news sites.

This enables contributors at any level to close gaps in the federal enterprise information architecture.</etgov:ComponentDescription>
<etgov:GovernmentBenefits>LinkSpace semantic correlation server provides important features supporting the Digital Asset Services described in the Service Component Model.

In one respect, as a social solution enabling communities of practice to collaborate and share knowledge by weaving together information distributed across the federal enterprise. In another, as a distributed content management solution that creates an adaptive layer of organization, awareness and access on top of the federal enterprise architecture, allowing each piece to be placed in context of the entire collection with strong, virtual semantic correlation.

Information sharing is a priority for the Homeland security and intelligence agencies. LinkSpace semantic correlation server and the associated service architecture enables a new paradigm for information sharing; share everywhere. However it also answers the policy challenges that create barriers to sharing by offering new capabilities: selective revelation and separately managed awareness and access.</etgov:GovernmentBenefits>
